Our Spring Wine Selection includes 6 bottles of mixed wines. We have included one of our favourite Hampshire sparkling wines, a classic Provence Rosé and a superb white Bordeaux (a Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon blend), a really underated wine. We have also included three classic red wines, a Burgundy from Lous Jadot, a Lalande de Pomerol from Chateau Les Hauts Conseillants and a red wine blend from Churchview Estate in western Australia.
The 6 bottle mixed case includes one bottle of each of the following wines (please follow the links for more information):
Raimes Classic Brut – A three way blend of 68% Chardonnay, 18% Pinot Noir and 14% Pinot Meunier. The wine is fermented in the traditional method. An elegant wine, the palate is very expressive with ripe citrus, stone fruit, apple and pear, soft fine mousse and delicate patisserie finish. Perfect as an aperitif, great with smoked salmon or poultry.
AIX Rosé, Coteaux d’Aix En Provence AOP – A classic Provencal rosé made from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grapes. Intense nose of peach, raspberries and white blossom to the fore. The palate is well-balanced with fresh stone fruit, raspberries with good balance. Refreshingly long an dry finish. Great with starters or salads.
Chateau Lestage La Mouette Bordeau Blanc – 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon. The grapes are whole bunch pressed and the wine is fermented and aged in barrels. The wine is matured on the fine lees with regular bâtonnage stirring to reveal all the complexity of the beautifully ripe grapes. Delicate and refined on the palate with excellent clarity, precision and a lovely balanced acidity that pairs well with fish, seafood and poultry.
Churchview Estate St Johns Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Merlot – a classic Bordeaux style blend from Margaret River, Western Australia. A fuller, rich wine. Fragrant nose with plummy, dark fruits, black cherry, and hints of dark chocolate. The palate has lots of ripe, black fruit flavours with ample, firm tannins dominating a dry, full-bodied very long finish. Great with red meat dishes and fuller flavoured dishes.
Chateau Les Hauts Conseillants, Lalande de Pomerol – situated to the north of Pomerol itself, the Les Hauts Conseillants 2016 from Lalande de Pomerol is a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of ripe blackberry and black cherry sit alongside more savoury, smoky, herbaceous and oaky notes. Rich and medium to full bodied on the palate with more black fruits flavours (blackberry and black currant), savoury spicy naunces and a hint of vanilla-y oak. Well structured with chewy tannins and a firm, mineral back bone with lengthy, dry finish. This will be great with roast lamb or a cheeseboard.
Louis Jadot Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru Les Narbantons – a light and fragrant, mature Pinot Noir. The grapes are sourced from the Les Narbantons vineyard situated on on the northern slopes of the Savigny Les Beaune which consistently makes one of the most elegant wines of the village. An elegant red wine with pure, earthy and plummy Pinot Noir fruit, balanced structure and lingering, clean finish. Great with rack of lamb or mushroom dishes.
