Poland’s Longest Operating Vodka Distillery

The Belvedere Vodka distillery is located at Polmos Zyrardów. The Belvedere brand was first launched in 1996 by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) and arguably single-handedly created the super premium vodka segment. However, the small and intimate Polmos Żyrardów distillery, located in the Mazovian plains, 45 kilometres to the west of Warsaw, is Poland’s longest operating vodka distillery and was founded in 1910.

The vodka distillery combines tradition, cutting-edge technology, passion, and innovation to create an exceptional vodka. Belvedere’s Master Rye Distillers, drawing on 600 years of Polish vodka-making expertise, skillfully craft Polish rye into an organic rye vodka with a unique taste and character.

How Belvedere Organic Vodka Is Made

  • The base grain is 100% organic Dankowskie Gold Rye sourced locally from seven trusted growers, allowing 100% traceability of the grain.
  • The rye grain is harvested, simmered to form a mash, which is then fermented and distilled by local farmer-distillers to produce a “raw alcohol”.
  • This spirit is then rectified, distilled through a series of three column stills, three more times at the Belvedere Distillery.
  • In effect, the end spirit is therefore quadruple distilled.
  • Purified water from the distillery’s artesian well is used to let down the spirit.
  • A proprietary water purification system using reverse osmosis is employed.
  • The final premium Polish vodka is filtered through activated charcoal and cellulose filters.
  • Belvedere Organic Vodka is all natural, containing zero additives or sugar.

Strict Polish Vodka Laws

Bevedere Vodka complies with Polish vodka laws, some of the strictest in the world: all production must take place on Polish soil, the spirit must be made of either grain or potato, and nothing else can be added.

Why Is It Called Belvedere Vodka?

As Poland is widely recognised as the birthplace of vodka, it is fitting that Belvedere Pure Vodka is named after the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw, formerly home to Polish royalty and presidents. It is the palace that is visible on each bottle.

Partnerships

Belvedere Organic Vodka is currently The Official Vodka of Formula 1. However, through the years, it has entered into many partnerships, probably most famously as the official vodka of the 24th James Bond film, Spectre. This saw the release of various limited edition vodka bottlings. Belvedere has also partnered with many celebrities, including John Legend, Chelsea Handler, Usher and Janelle Monae.

Certified Kosher Vodka

Certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union (OU).

Tasting Notes

Nose: Soft and inviting, with notes of vanilla and cream.

Palate: Full and round with medium body and a naturally smooth, rich and velvety texture. Light vanilla notes sway between sweet and savoury, with a hint of black pepper and spice.

Finish: Sustained with notes of almond, clotted cream and faint brazil nut characteristics.

To Serve

Belvedere Organic Vodka can be served neat, over ice or straight from the freezer.

It is also great in classic vodka cocktails, like a classic Martini.
