Zuccardi ‘Tito Zuccardi’ is an Argentinian red wine from Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley, Mendoza. Made from 85% Malbec and 15% Cabernet Franc, this distinctive blend combines the dark fruit and generous character of Malbec with the freshness, savoury complexity and spice of Cabernet Franc.
Zuccardi Tito is produced by the acclaimed Zuccardi family and displays the elegance and sense of place that have made high-altitude wines from the Uco Valley so sought after. The wine is packed with concentrated black and red fruit, subtle herbal notes, finely textured tannins and a fresh, lingering finish. A superb choice for lovers of characterful Argentine red wine and a perfect pairing for grilled beef or roast lamb.
The Malbec and Cabernet Franc grapes for the Zuccardi Tito come from Paraje Altamira, a highly regarded wine-growing area in San Carlos, within Mendoza’s Uco Valley. The vineyards sit at approximately 1,100 metres above sea level, where intense sunshine and cool temperatures encourage steady ripening while helping the grapes retain natural acidity.
The vineyards are planted on soils which are alluvial, with layers of stones, granite gravel and calcareous material. These varied, mineral-rich soils, combined with the area’s marked difference between daytime and night-time temperatures, contribute to the wine’s freshness, structure and distinctive sense of place.
Zuccardi Wines is one of Argentina’s most respected wine producers, recognised for its focus on vineyard character and the diverse terroirs of Mendoza’s Uco Valley. Alberto Zuccardi, affectionately known as Tito, founded the family business and planted the family’s first vineyard in 1963, demonstrating an irrigation system he had developed for the region.
Today, his grandson Sebastián Zuccardi leads the winery’s winemaking direction, working with his team to explore the individual characteristics of the Uco Valley’s vineyards, soils and climate. This philosophy places the origin of the grapes at the heart of the wine, with careful winemaking designed to express the landscape rather than mask it.
In 2019, Sebastian was voted one of South America’s most exciting winemakers by Decanter Magazine, and Zuccardi Valle de Uco was voted “The World’s Best Vineyard”.
This wine is part of the “Vinos de Viticultor” range of wines created by Sebastian Zuccardi, which was created as a tribute to the inspiring members of his family whose passion and innovation have helped to establish the Zuccardi vision as it is today. It is named after Sebastian’s grandfather Alberto, also known as Tito.
The range also includes the Zuccardi Emma Bonarda.
