Zuccardi Emma Bonarda is an elegant, characterful Argentine red wine made from 100% Bonarda grapes grown in the high-altitude vineyards of Mendoza’s Valle de Uco.
This wine is part of the “Vinos de Viticultor” range of wines created by Sebastian Zuccardi, which was created as a tribute to the inspiring members of his family whose passion and innovation have helped to establish the Zuccardi vision as it is today. It is named after Sebastian’s grandmother Emma; it was also the first wine that he ever made. The range also includes the Zuccardi Tito Malbec – Cabernet Franc.
Emma Zuccardi is a fresh, refined and wonderfully individual expression of high-altitude Argentine winemaking with expressive black fruit aromas with subtle herbal notes, fresh acidity and beautifully structured tannins.

Emma Zuccardi Bonarda is an assemblage of grapes from Paraje Altamira (1100 m) and San Pablo (1400 m) in the Uco Valley. The blend typically comprises 70% fruit from Paraje Altamira and 30% from San Pablo.
Paraje Altamira is characterised by a cool, temperate climate and significant differences between daytime and night-time temperatures. Its alluvial soils contain large stones and granite gravel covered with calcium carbonate, creating a distinctive growing environment for vines.
Further north, San Pablo lies closer to the foothills of the Andes, where higher altitude brings cooler conditions and particularly cold night-time temperatures. Its alluvial soils contain layers of gravel covered with calcareous material.
These contrasting vineyard sites bring complementary qualities to the finished wine. The combination of altitude, cool nights and mineral-rich soils helps preserve natural acidity while allowing the Bonarda grapes to develop depth, aromatic complexity and fine structure.

Zuccardi is one of Argentina’s most respected family-owned wine producers, internationally recognised for its commitment to vineyard expression and the distinctive terroirs of Mendoza’s Valle de Uco.
The family’s story began in 1963 when Alberto ‘Tito’ Zuccardi planted the first vineyard in Maipú, Mendoza, initially to demonstrate an irrigation system he had developed. His son José continued to develop the business, while the third generation, Sebastián Zuccardi, has taken the winery’s reputation to new heights.
Today, Sebastián and his winemaking team concentrate on understanding the individual characteristics of their vineyards, soils and climate. Their philosophy is to make wines that express where the grapes are grown, rather than relying on heavy-handed winemaking or oak influence.
In 2019, Sebastian was voted one of South America’s most exciting winemakers by Decanter Magazine, and Zuccardi Valle de Uco was voted “The World’s Best Vineyard”.
