Description

Baron Philippe de Rothschild Sauvignon Blanc is a white Pays d’Oc wine made in the middle of the Languedoc Roussillon wine producing region. Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s winemakers have selected the areas with the best soil and climate for growing the Sauvignon Blanc grape. In the region around Limoux in particular, offering a patchwork of micro-terroirs, they have chosen the highest quality parcels from their growers’ vineyards. All year round, each selected parcel is individually and permanently monitored by the Baron Philippe de Rothschild team. In order to obtain highly aromatic and expressive wines, the grapes are picked at full maturity. The wines from each parcel are vinified separately before final blending. The wines are matured on fine lees in vats for six months then quickly bottled at BPDR’s Saint-Laurent-Médoc winery in order to preserve all their freshness and fruit. A pale gold with fine green highlights, the wine has a refined, elegant nose that opens on blossom aromas and delicate notes of ripe fruit. Round and full on the palate, with a pleasing crispness, its delicate citrus fruit flavours are set off by a touch of minerality that brings freshness and character. A rich and long finish expresses all the personality and refinement of the variety.
