Chateau Brane Cantenac was classified as a second growth in the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification. it is located in the heart of the famous Margaux appellation of Bordeaux and is renowned for producing wines of great elegance and finesse. The Chateau underwent a big improvement in quality when Henri Lurton took over in 1992 with a mission to firmly re-establish Chateau Brane Cantenac in the very top ranks of the second growths. The estate itself comprises some 75 hectares but it is the 15 hectares behind the Chateau that make up the historic heart of the estate. Chateau Brane Cantenac 2010 is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc aged for 18 months in new French oak, 60% of which is new.
