Description

Domaines Paul Mas offers a “New World” approach to winemaking from 2 distinct winegrowing regions within the Languedoc-Roussillon: Pezenas, north-east of Beziers and Limoux, next to Carcasonne. La Forge wines are made by Domaines Paul Mas from grapes grown at the La Forge vineyards in the Languedoc. This wine is actually a blend of 90% Malbec and 10% Cabernet Franc. The soil type is Limestone and chalk for the Cabernet Franc. Limestone and gravel for the Malbec. The average age of the vines are 22 years old for the Cabernet and 16 year old for the Malbec. The “assemblage” is made in November before putting the wine in barrels and in vats. 30% of the blend is aged in new oak barrel for 70% is matured in cement vats. Powerful and complex with a quintessence of floral, plums mocha and black current aromas with toasted notes.
