Baron Philippe de Rothschild Bordeaux Blanc is a blend of wines produced in the largest wine-growing area of the Bordeaux region, from Bordeaux and Bordeaux supérieur appellations. The predominantly clay and limestone soil has a loamy top that has given rise to a specific type of silty, siliceous soil, known locally as boulbène, that is particularly suitable for white grape varieties, especially Semillon. Grapes are destemmed and gently crushed then allowed to macerate in contact with the skin. after pressing and cold settling, the musts are vinified at the saint-laurent-médoc winery under the daily supervision of our winemakers. temperatures are controlled during alcoholic fermentation to favour expression of the wine’s fruit and elegance. The wines are matured in vats before bottling at BPDR’s Saint-Laurent-Médoc winery. BPDR Bordeaux Blanc is a blend of Semillon (40%) which gives roundness and refinement, Sauvignon Blanc (50%) which brings fresh, fruity and floral aromas and flavours, and Muscadelle (10%) a distinctive aromatic character.
