Discover Contemporary German Riesling at Fareham Wine Cellar
Experience the vibrant, mineral-driven character of the Mosel Valley with Villa Huesgen Schiefer Riesling. This exceptional German white wine combines centuries of winemaking heritage with a fresh, modern approach
to viticulture. Available now at Fareham Wine Cellar, it is an excellent choice for lovers of premium dry Riesling.
The Huesgen family’s winemaking history in the Mosel dates back to 1735. Today, ninth-generation vintner Adolph Huesgen leads the estate from its historic Art Nouveau headquarters in Traben-Trarbach, designed by renowned architect Bruno Möhring. In the early 20th century, the town was second only to Bordeaux as a global wine trading centre.
Despite this rich history, Adolph Huesgen has modernised the estate by simplifying German wine presentation and focusing on quality-driven, contemporary winemaking.
The distinctive character of Villa Huesgen Schiefer Riesling comes from the steep Mosel vineyards and their famous slate soils.
In keeping with the estate’s modern philosophy, traditional old oak casks have been replaced with state-of-the-art cellar technology designed to preserve the purity and freshness of the Riesling fruit.
Villa Huesgen Schiefer Riesling offers aromas of green apple, citrus and stone fruits, balanced by vibrant acidity and a distinctive slate-driven mineral finish. Fresh and elegant, it pairs beautifully with seafood, Thai cuisine, poultry dishes or can simply be enjoyed on its own as an aperitif.
Whether you are discovering German Riesling for the first time or adding a classic Mosel wine to your collection, buy Villa Huesgen Schiefer Riesling online from Fareham Wine Cellar or visit our Hampshire wine shop.
