The West Winds Gin The Cutlass is a small batch distilled Australian gin bottled at 50% abv. It is made using a selection of native Australian and imported botanicals and is Australia’s most awared gin. The West Winds Gin company was founded in Melbourne in 2010 by four Australians Jason Chan, Paul White, Jeremy Spencer and James Clark who all shared the vsion of creating a “damn fine”, uniquely Australian gin. The first gin was released by The Tailor Made Spirits Company in 2011. The range initially consisted of two gins, The Sabre and The Cutlass. These have been joined by a third gin, The Broadside Navy Strength bottled at 58% ABV. All of the gins combine traditional gin botanicals with more unusual, distinctly Australian botanicals. The The West Winds Gin The Cutlass is an aromatic gin which combines a good dose of traditional juniper with more unusual botanicals including myrtle, lemon myrtle and Australian bush tomato. There is a higher proportion of coriander in this gin compared with The Sabre, which marries really well with the bush tomato. The water used in producing this gin is sourced from the Margaret River.
