September has arrived, and with it comes Bordeaux Wine Month 2026.
Bordeaux remains the benchmark for fine wine, yet its sheer diversity is often overlooked. While Bordeaux is often associated with prestigious and expensive wines, the region produces a much broader range of styles, appellations and price points. From fresh white Bordeaux to mature Right Bank reds and classic Médoc wines, there is plenty to explore.
To help you explore beyond the headlines, we’ve put together a standout six-bottle mixed case (perfect for gifting too!) alongside a series of free in-store tastings at 55 High Street. There is also a competition to win a £250 gift voucher (scan the QR code below).
From white Bordeaux and the Right Bank to the Médoc and Saint-Estèphe, the Fareham Wine Cellar Bordeaux Sampler is designed to give both Bordeaux newcomers and established enthusiasts something interesting to explore.
This is a carefully selected six-bottle case featuring one white Bordeaux and five reds from across the region. Discover the fresh character of Château Lestage La Mouette Bordeaux Blanc 2020, the approachable Château Maine Blanc 2017 from Blaye, and the rich Right Bank style of Château du Courlat Cuvée Jean-Baptiste 2015. The case also includes classic Left Bank wines from Château Semonlon 2021, Château Merville 2014 from Saint-Estèphe and Château Caroline 2019 from Moulis-en-Médoc. Six bottles, five appellations and a great introduction to the different styles of Bordeaux.
We are also holding a series of free in-store Bordeaux tastings at Fareham Wine Cellar, 55 High Street, Fareham, giving you the opportunity to taste a selection of these wines and meet the team. There are three drop-in tasting sessions right here in the shop:
