The Montecristo Open Master is the second largest on the Montecristo Open Range. It is a robusto sized, delightfully medium bodied cigar in the classic shape and sporting the all-important fleur-de-lys on its
band.
Montecristo have to be one of the most famous of all the Cuban Cigar brands. It takes its name from Alex Dumas’ famous book “The Count of Montecristo” which was a favourite when it was read to the cigar rollers, or Torcedores, whilst they worked. The factory was founded in 1935 and they make two ranges of cigars, the Linea Clasica and the new Open Range.
The Montecristo Open range of cigars was only introduced in 2009 and consists of 4 sizes, in decreasing size, the Eagle, the Regata, the Master and the J (Junior). The Open Range blend is lighter than the Clasica range of cigars and was produced to target a new generation of smokes, particularly those that enjoy outdoor pursuits such as sailing and golf (hence Open, Regata and Eagle).
