Stelvin Screwcap Christmas Tree

After my little bit of fun with The Stelvin Snowman last year and, with a little bit of time on my hands in early November 2013, before the Christmas rush, I came up with the idea The Stelvin Screwcap Christmas Tree. So armed with a lot of saved up screwcaps (I am not sure what I was saving them for), some Christmas decoration hanging wire and skewer to make some holes I set about making some Stelvin baubles. I did set out with the intention of making a Christmas myself but in the end I chickened out and bought this little twiggy number with some LED lights. Some of you may have seen The Stelvin Christmas Tree lurking in Fareham Wine Cellar shop window for most of December 2013, however, this is the first time I have had a chance to sit down and do a bit of blogging.

Here are a few other images. It was surprisingly difficult to take a decent photograph of (armed with only a trusty smartphone).

So, you might recognise a few of the producers screwcaps that I have used. These include Wakefield (Taylor’s) Estate, Hope Estate, St Helena New Zealand, Cape Mentelle, Best’s Wines, Jurtschitch, Caliterra, Neethlingshof, Borsao, Errazuriz, Langmeil and various others.

Now I just need some ideas for all my left over Stelvin screwcaps. Although I thought I might make a cork Christmas tree this year.

Does anyone have any good ideas on things to make with leftover screwcaps or corks?
