What is Independents’ Day?

As an independent, High Street wine merchant, Fareham Wine Cellar is supporting Independents’ Day. Independents’ Day UK is a campaign that independent retailers across sectors and throughout the country can use to promote their own businesses online and in their community. For us that means our wide range of wines, spirits and cigars.

Independents’ Day UK takes place once a year, usually in July.

As a shopper Independents’ Day UK is your chance to show some love for the independent retailers you value most both in your local communities and online: the ones you wouldn’t want to live without. Here’s how you can get involved to help make Independents’ Day UK a success for those businesses and others.

• Connect with the campaign across social media channels. Engage with the posts and share them with your network.
• Spread the word about the campaign to your family and friends. Encourage them to get involved.
• Highlight the independent retailers you love and value most on social media. Be sure to tag Independents Day UK using the hashtag #ukindieday.
• Make a mental note of one or two independent businesses you’ve never visited before, or revisit local favourites you know and trust.
