Paulinshof Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese Trocken is a crisp, dry and refreshing Riesling from the Mosel region of Germany. The grapes come from the Brauneberger Juffer vineyard – a site which was recognised in the Napoleonic classification of 1804 as the top vineyard in the Mosel producing mineral and structured wines. The estate has been owned by Klaus and Christa Jüngling since 1969.
Paulinshof aim to produce the best quality grapes possible through the natural interplay of the slate soils, terroir, careful vineyard management to keep yields low, hand selection of healthy, fully ripe grapes and modern cellar techniques. The grapes for Paulinshof Brauneberger Juffer-Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese Trocken come from the Sonnenuhr sub-section of 31 hectare Brauneberger Juffer vineyard where the slopes extremely steep and south facing. The grapes are harvested from stake-trained vines which are situated on iron-bearing slate soils. After harvest the grapes are pressed at low pressure, and then fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel.
