Description

Baron’Arques is a joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Les Vignerons de Sieur D’Arques. This is an exceptional wine, a blend of six grapes-three that are common to the Mediterranean region and three famous grape varieties from Bordeaux-all grown on 70 acres of vines by the 40 producer/members of the well-known cooperative Vignerons du Sieur d’Arques. The wine’s name also is a fusion of the best-known Bordeaux winemaker and its Languedoc partner. Grapes were hand-picked at a carefully chosen time based on laboratory testing of maturity. They were brought to the “Capitelle de Baron’arques” where they were sorted, destemmed, crushed and vatted in stainless steel. Fermentation followed by 2-4 weeks of maceration. The wines were then matured for 12 months in French oak barrels (50% new, 50% one year old). 34% Merlot, 22% Grenache, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Syrah, 12% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec
