The Montecristo Petit No 2 Cigar is the little brother to the iconic Montecristo No 2. It is the same Figurado type cigar (i.e. it is a torpedo shaped cigar) but measures in 36 mms shorter at 120 mms. Part of the Montecristo “Classic” range, it was first launched in 2013 and reflects the vogue for shorter cigars at the time, 78 years after the No 2 was launched.
Montecristo Cigars take their name from Alex Dumas’ famous book “The Count of Montecristo” which was a favourite when it was read to the cigar rollers, or Torcedores, whilst they worked. The factory was founded in 1935 and they make two ranges of cigars, the Linea Clasica, including this cigar, and the new Open Range. The Clasica range is a classic medium to full bodied range of cigars, whilst the Open range is a little lighter in style. Montecristo cigars are a perfectly balanced blend of selected tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo which produces a medium to full flavour with a distinguished aroma.
The Montecristo Petit No 2 Cigar is an easy burning cigar with a controlled release of flavours. There are complex flavours and aromas of biscuits, almond, cashew, dark chocolate, hints of orange peel, cedar around a leathery, earthy, woody core.
Smoking time approximately 45 minutes.
