This premium Nicaraguan cigar will please cigar smokers looking for earthy taste profiles with spices and some sweetness.
The Zino Nicaragua range of cigars is made by Davidoff. It was Zino Davidoff, the “King of Cigars”, who founded Davidoff in 1946 in Switzerland when he released his first cigar, the “Chateau Latour”. By the 1960s, he was so highly regarded that he was approached by the Cuban government to make a range of cigars from Cuban tobacco.
Eventually, the Davidoff brand would grow to include pipe tobacco, cigarettes, humidors and a range of luxury accessories. Zino Davidoff was an adventurer and a pioneer in the cigar world. He loved to discover and enjoy life to the fullest. Inspired by his personality, Davidoff has developed a cigar line that reflects his spirit and zest for life.
Zino Nicaragua Gordo cigars are made at the Diadema Cigars de Honduras S.A. in Honduras, which is a little bit confusing, isn’t it? Although this is not a Nicaraguan Puro, the “Nicaragua” part of the name derives from the fact that the cigar blend contains imported Nicaraguan filler and binder.
These premium cigars are one some the best value medium-bodied smokes available to buy online and in-store at Fareham Wine Cellar. They are great for novices, occasional smokers and cigar enthusiasts. A must-try for a relaxing evening smoke.
These cigars have a light brown colour. On smoking, the first third of the Zino Nicaragua Gordo is characterised by fresh pepper (capsicum), cedar wood and coffee, developing into cream, leather and salted nuts in the second third. The last third of the cigar has nuances of dark chocolate, spices and milk coffee.
Try with a rum, preferably Nicaraguan, or a craft beer to complement the sweet and creamy character of the beer.
Hybrid 56 Seco refers to a specific tobacco varietal grown in Nicaragua, often used as a binder in cigar construction. The “Seco” designation indicates it’s a leaf from the lower-middle part of the tobacco plant, known for its milder flavour and good burning qualities compared to higher leaves (for example Ligero, which is stronger, or Viso, which is medium).
