Plasencia Year of the Dragon 2024 – 1 Single Cigar

Plasencia Year of the Dragon is a limited edition cigar for 2024. It is the fourth release by Plasencia to commemorate the Chinese New Year. Only 3000 boxes of then were produced. It is a long, torpedo shaped cigar, 6 1/2 inches long with a 54 ring gauge. These cigars have a robust and bold character, providing a smooth, peppery, and earthy profile.

Plasencia was initially founded by Don Eduardo Plasencia who emigrated from The Canary islands in 1865 to Cuba and began to grow tobacco. The farm remained in family hands until it was confiscated by Fidel Castro’s regime in 1963. Don Elder Sixto and his family fled to Mexico and and ended up in Nicaragua in 1965 where he planted some of his best seeds. The farms were burned by The Sandinistas in 1978 and the family fled to Honduras where Nestor Plasencia entered the cigar business. Eventually, in 1990, the family would return to Nicaragua and re-establish the business they were forced to leave. Plasencia are now the largest tobacco grower in world. They launched their first cigars under the Plasencia brand in 2017.
