Description

Burleighs London Dry Gin Pink Edition was originally a very limited edition bottling of gin launched in August 2016 (it sold out in 5 days). Luckily master distiller, Jamie Baxter (ex of Chase Distillery) has decided to produce more of this fantastic, pretty, pink-coloured gin.

Burleigh’s Gin was founded by Baxter in 2014 and is made at the 45 West Distillery located at Bawdon Lodge Farm in the Charnwood Forest in north west Leicestershire. As well as various special editions, there are three gins which make up the Burleigh’s London Dry Gin range – the signature London Dry bottled at 40% abv, an export strength bottled at 47% and a Distiller’s Cut bottled at 47% abv but with a different ratio of botanicals to create a lighter, floral, crisp and dry gin.

Baxter was inspired to create Burleighs London Dry Gin Pink Edition after visit to Japanese. I guess he must have visited during the Japanese cherry blossom season as the botanicals include Japanese cherry blossom. The gin is essentially Burleigh’s London Dry Gin (whose botanicals include juniper, silver birch, dandelion, burdock and elderberries) with the addition of Japanese cherry blossom, hibiscus, rose petals and pink grapefruit. The gin is distilled in a 450 litre copper pot still made by Arnold Holstein of Markdorff, Germany, nicknamed “Messy Bessy”.

Bottled in a rather fetching, opaque, bright pink bottle at 40% abv.
