Licor 43 is a Spanish liqueur from the south east of Spain made by family owned Zamora Licores. It is also known as “Liquid Gold” due to its distinctive golden colour and is the best selling liqueur in Spain. Licor 43 is made from a secret blend of 43 ingredients (hence the name) including fruit, herbs and vanilla from around the Mediterranean. The orange colour also gives a big hint as to one of its main ingredients. The recipe, and a small distillery in Cartagena, was acquired by Diego Zamora in 1924 and he commenced production and worldwide marketing of Licor 43.
