Midori Melon Liqueur is the original and famously bright green liqueur infused with Japanese Melon. Midori means verdant, emerald green in Japanese. It is manufactured in Japan, Mexico and France.

Midori Melon Liqueur was developed by the Japanese Whisky company Suntory and was launched in the USA in 1978. Since that launch in New York Midori’s reputation has gone from strength to strength amongst the World’s bartenders as an essential cocktail ingredient.

The key to Midori’s distinctive sweet and refreshing taste is the combination of Japan’s premium Yubari and musk melons. The juice from these melons is distilled under special conditions before being combined with other ingredients to enhance its natural flavours and add depth and richness, using Suntory’s exclusive blending techniques.

Midori Sour

  • 5 cl Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 3 cl lemon juice
  • 1.5 cl simple syrup
  • Dash of egg white
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnish: maraschino cherry

Directions:

  1. In a shaker, combine the Midori Melon Liqueur, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white.
  2. Add ice cubes to the shaker and shake well.
  3. Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with ice.
  4. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
