Glenalmond Highland Blended Malt Whisky is produced by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. who also bottle the fantastic Cooper Choice range of single distillery single barrel, vintage whiskies and “secret malts” like The Finlaggan and The Ileach.

The Vintage Malt Whisky Co. was founded in 1992 by Brian Crook, an honours graduate in Food Science with twenty years experience in the malt whisky industry, latterly as Export Director for one of Scotland’s principal distillers. The aim was to produce a range of malt whiskies from Scotland’s finest distilleries and to make them available to independent wine and spirit importers throughout the world.

Glenalmond Highland Blended Malt Whisky is a blended malt (previously these were known as vatted malts), that is to say that it is a blend of only single malt whiskies, there is no grain in the blend. To produce Glenalmond only the best malts from a small group of Scotland’s finest malt whisky distilleries are chosen, carefully blended together, vatted and left until the right marriage of flavours was achieved. The Highland malts used in the blend are aged in ex Bourbon and Sherry casks. Previously bottled as a vintage whisky, Glenalmond is now bottled as a no age statement whisky.

The Glenalmond Highland Blended Malt Whisky label features an image of the iconic Brown Trout that are fished in the the River Almond. The River Almond is  tributary of the River Tay in Perth and Kinross which flows through Glenalmond after which this delicious blended malt is named.
