Limited to just 299 bottles, this heavily peated Skye single malt was matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in premium Tokaj wine casks before being bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.3% ABV.

Torabhaig is a modern independent distillery on the Isle of Skye. Founded in 2013, it is only the second distillery to open on the island in over 190 years.
Housed in a beautifully restored 19th-century stone farm steading, the distillery features two bespoke copper pot stills by Forsyths, long fermentations in Douglas Fir washbacks, and pure spring water from the surrounding hills. Owned by Mossburn Distillers, Torabhaig produces a distinctive, fruit-forward, heavily peated single malt with an annual capacity of approximately 1.5 million bottles.
There is no head distiller at Torabhaig; instead, a team of nine distillers, many of them new to the industry, but now accomplished brewer-distillers, began work on this new release in January 2017. They have served their apprenticeship under a team of whisky industry mentors and veterans, including consultant brewers, distillers and maltsmen, who have over 200 years of know-how between them.

This richly layered whisky greets the nose with delicate smoke, briny freshness, and notes of brown sugar, cooked apple, marzipan, and toasted wood. On the palate, chewy dried fruits and apricot combine with clove and malty richness, finished with soft treacle sweetness and a gentle wisp of smoke.
