Crystal Head Vodka is a premium vodka produced in St Johns, Newfoundland, Canada and was founded by actor Dan Aykroyd and fine artist John Alexander.
Crystal Head Vodka was first launched in the US market in 2008. Both Aykroyd and Alexander were interested it the legend of the 13 crystal heads and they soon had an idea for a new project. Anyone who has ever seen the slightly disappointing fourth film in the Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, might be aware of the legend of the crystal skulls. The heads are thought to offer spiritual power and enlightenment to those who possess them, and as such stand not as symbols of death, but of life.
Crystal Head Vodka is distilled four times for maximum purity and is triple filtered through Herkimer diamond cystals (a type of quartz) prior to bottling. Crystal Head Vodka is made from a type of corn called “peaches and cream” corn. Being made from a corn based spirit means that this is also a naturally gluten free vodka. The resulting vodka is very pure and smooth has no additives – no glycerol, no citrus oils, no raw sugar – which are used in some, lesser, vodkas.
The very cool Crystal Head Vodka bottle was designed by John Alexander and is made by the Milan-based glass manufacturer Bruni Glass.
Crystal Head Vodka is OU kosher certified and is also suitable for vegan and vegetarians.
