Evan Williams Bottled in Bond Straight Kentucky Bourbon is a full-flavoured and bold Kentucky Bourbon made by Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. To be labeled as Bottled in Bond (BIB) a Bourbon must be the product of one distillation season and one distiller at one distillery, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) and then aged for at least four years under U.S. government supervision. These stipulations were laid out in the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 which was brought in to help prevent the adulteration of American whisky. Heaven Hill was originally established as a Bourbon distiller in 1934, and today holds the world’s second largest holding of aging Kentucky Bourbon in 42 open rick warehouses situated throughout Nelson County, the heart of Bourbon Country.
By law, Bourbon must be made up of at least 51% corn and be aged a minimum of two years in a new charred white oak barrels. A straight Bourbon has to be aged for at least 2 years. Evan Williams Bottled in Bond Straight Kentucky Bourbon is often known as Evan Williams White Label for obvious reasons.
