Teeling Whiskey Brabazon Bottling Series 1 is the first in a new range of bottlings from Teeling Irish Whiskey. The Brabazon bottling is a Single Malt small batch bottling which is designed to show how ageing whisky in different fortified wine casks affect the character, flavours and aromas of a whisky. the Teeling Whisky Brabazon Bottling Series 1 matured in Sherry cask.

The Teeling Whiskey Company is an independent Irish whiskey company. Ever since Cooley Distillery was acquired by American spirits compant Beam Inc. there has been a big hole in the Irish Whiskey landscape for a good independent Whiskey brand and Teeling, as well as a few other brands, are now starting to fill that gap. Irish whiskey is fastest growing spirits category in the world but a lot of Irish whiskies don’t offer much choice in terms of styles or flavours. The Teeling Whiskey Company intend to change this by producing small batch whiskeys with great personality and character compared to the mass-market brands. Teeling Irish Whiskey is a small batch blend of Malt and Grain whiskey with a higher than normal composition of first fill bourbon barrels and higher than usual ratio of malt to grain.

Teeling Whiskey Brabazon Bottling Series 1 focuses on Sherry cask maturation to produce a full flavoured Sherry influenced Irish Single Malt. The bottling consists of a vatting of 6 different Sherry casks carefully chosen for their compementary character. These compistion is:

5% 2001 Vintage Single Malt Sherry Hogshead Fully Matured 250L

2.5% 2002 Vintage Single Malt Oloroso Sherry Cask Finished 220L

2.5% 2002 Vintage Single Malt Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask Finished 220L

30% 2005 Vintage Single Malt Sherry Butt Fully Matured  500L

30% 2007 Vintage Single Malt Sherry Butt Fully Matured  500L

30% 2008 Vintage Single Malt Sherry Butt Fully Matured  500L

Bottled without chill filtration at an ABV of 49.5%. 12,5000 bottles.
