Mackmyra 10 Year Old is the first officially released Swedish Single Malt Whisky. Mackmyra have been at the forefront of the quietly building, new Swedish Whisky revolution and are the largest producer of Swedish Whisky. This is a limited edition bottling and is also known as Mackmyra T10.

Mackmyra was founded by in 1999 by eight classmates from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with the first commercial whisky coming on stream in 2002. The whisky is produced using Swedish ingredients at the Mackmyra Bruk Mill – Swedish barley, which develops a special sweetness during the long summer days, and the some of the world’s purest water, filtered to perfection since the Ice Age. Some of Mackmyra’s whisky is matured stored in new Swedish oak. The Swedish oak grows slowly in Sweden’s cool climate and gives the whisky a different, spicier flavor than American oak, for example. The casks are newly manufactured from oak that was planted on the island of Visingsö 160 years ago and intended for use in building warships for the Swedish navy. A lot of the casks are small 100-litre casks which produces an exciting, powerful ageing process. The Whisky is aged in the Bodås mine, 50 metres down inside the primary rock.

Mackmyra 10 Year Old Swedish Single Malt Whisky was first released in the UK in May 2017. It is matured for ten years in a combination of high quality ex Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry  and new American oak casks and skillfully blended by master blender Angela D’Orazio. An elegant whisky perfect for any occasion.
