Mackmyra Blomstertid Swedish Single Malt Whisky is part of Mackmyra’s fantastic range of limited edition whiskies known as Mackmyra Seasons. As well as Blomstertid (Blossom time) the rest of the range includes Blomstertid (Blossom time), Vinterrok (Winter Smoke),Sommartid (Summer Time), Midvinter (Mid Winter), Midnattssol (Midnight Sun) and Iskristall (Ice Crystal). All of these have very unusual cask finishes. Mackmyra was founded by in 1999 by eight classmates from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with the first commercial whisky coming on stream in 2002. Mackmyra Blomstertid Swedish Single Malt Whisky Limited Edition is aged in new and first fill American wine casks, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez casks and a third is aged in ex-Bourbon casks that have been seasoned with aged cherry wine. This gives the whisky notes of cherry both in character and colour.
