Chateau Beychevelle is a St Julien that was classified as a 4th growth in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. It is located in the far south of the St Julien appellation and they have 90 hectares of vineyards. Chateau Beychevelle is one of Bordeaux’s iconic wines and its label with a sailing ship and sail is instantly recognisable. Cabernet Sauvignon accounts for about 62% of plantings with the remainder Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine is usually aged for 18 months in French oak.
