Chateau Giscours is a third growth as classified in the official Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. It is located in the commune of Labarde. The chateau was bought by businessman Eric Albada Jelgersma in 1995. The estate consists of some 400 hectares with vineyards planted over several polst totalling 94 hectares. These are planted with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. The wines is aged in 100% French oak barrels(fine grain and medium toast), 50% of which are new and 50% of which are one year old, for 15 to 18 months. Chateau Giscours is a wine of great finesse and elegance. Delicacy and power are combined to bring you the elegance expected of a great Margaux wine. Consultant oenologist is Denis Dubourdieu.
