Clos Floridène Rouge is an exceptional red Bordeaux wine from the prestigious Graves appellation, crafted on the calcareous plateau of Pujols-sur-Ciron near Barsac. This distinctive wine showcases the rare combination of Cabernet Sauvignon grown on limestone soils, creating a unique expression of Bordeaux terroir.

The Dubourdieu Family Legacy

Denis Dubourdieu Domaines was established by French winemaker and professor of oenology at the University of Bordeaux, Denis Dubourdieu, and his wife, Florence. Sadly, Denis passed away in 2016. Since then, their sons, Fabrice and Jean-Jacques, now run several estates totalling 135 hectares, in the Sauternes, Graves and Cadillac– Côtes de Bordeaux regions. Their estates include Château Doisy-Daëne, Clos Floridene, Château Reynon, Château Cantegril and Château Haura.

The Evolution of Clos Floridène

Since 1982, Dubourdieu has transformed Clos Floridène into a 31-hectare estate of exceptional quality. What began as a modest 2-hectare enclosed parcel with old Sémillon and Muscadelle vines, plus 2 hectares planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, has grown through strategic acquisitions, including the significant addition of Château Montalivet (13 hectares) in 1991. Under Fabrice Dubourdieu’s leadership, a state-of-the-art cellar was constructed in 2004, further elevating the estate’s winemaking capabilities.
