Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera is 100% Barbera aged for 6 months in oak barrels (some Allier and some large Slavonian oak casks). The estate of Fontanafredda has come a long way since the days when it was the hunting lodge to the late King Emmanuel and the home to his mistress the Bella Rosa Rosin. Danilo Drocco took over the winemaking reins over five years ago and the results have revolutionised the estate. New labels (including the Briccotondo range) and more confident presentation, wines that reflect not only the current tastes, but also the character of the wonderful area they hail from and the recognition of quality for the Barolo ‘cru’s’ that have responded to love and care with awesome results.
