Four Vines Biker Zinfandel is a red wine from the Paso Robles American Viticultural Area which is located in San Luis Obispo County California. The Four Vines range of wines is made by Purple Wine Spirits who are located in the west Sonoma town of Graton. Four Vines are a bunch of wine rebels, with a winemaking team lead by industry veteran Antonio Trevino, who decided to go against the mainstream of American wines (dodgy Pinot Noir, oaky Chardonnay and flabby Merlot etc.) and basically source some extrmely good fruit, make some great wine and as they say on their website “Enjoy much-deserved Rock Star status.” They concentrate on mainly on Zinfandel wines although they do make a bit of Naked Chardonnay. They produce 4 zinfandels all with quite quirky names: the Truant, Biker, Maverick and Sophisticate.
Four Vines Biker Zinfandel is a blend of 83% old vine Zinfandel from Paso Robles (from the Dusi and Preston vineyards) with 9% Petit Sirah (Durif), 7% Primitivo and 1% Syrah. The wines is aged for 14 months in American, French and Hungarian oak barrels, 30% of which are new. Bottled for bad boys and bold palates.
