Nieto Don Nicanor Malbec comes from very old vineyards, from vines aged between 40 to 45 years old, in the famed subdistrict of Agrelo. Bodegas Nieto Senetiner can trace their history back to 1888 and was founded and built by Italian immigrants in Carrodilla, Lujan de Cuyo in the north of the Mendoza wine-growing region. The winery was acquired by the Nieto Senetiner families in 1969 and a programme of expansion and development began. Today the wine is owned by the Perez Companc family and is recognised as one of the iconic wineries of Mendoza. Nieto has over 300 hectares of vineyards in nearly all of the best sub-districts of Mendoza including Carrodilla, Vistalaba and Agrelo in Lujan de Cuyo. From these vineyards Nieto produce typical and classic wines, characterised by the uniquely appealing balance of power and finesse that defines the best wines of Mendoza. Nieto Don Nicanor Malbec wine is aged 18 months in French oak barrels.
