Omero Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a red wine made by Omero Cellars in Oregon.
Omero Cellars is a small, family-owned and run winery located in the Ribbon Ridge AVA (American Viticultural Area), which is the smallest AVA in the Willamette Valley. The winery was founded by Bill and Staci Moore, whose son, David Moore, serves as the business and vineyard manager. All of the wines are crafted simply, without the use of chemicals, animal products and using only indigenous yeasts. The grapes are all farmed from sustainable (good), organic (better) and biodynamic (best) vineyards. The vineyards comprise some 20 hectares.
Winemaker Chad Stock is a biodynamic specialist. Chad’s Pinot Noirs are the product of an attention to detail that borders on obsession, from the tailoring of Burgundy clones to Oregon terroir, his treatment of yeast cultures as if they were sourdough, and his insistence on making aromatic wines that marry weight and structure to delicacy and length.
Omero Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
The estate also practices organic and biodynamic production, although this particular wine is not certified as such.
This fine-grained Pinot Noir from Oregon’s much-admired Willamette Valley resembles a parcel of red fruits tied up with silk ribbon: strawberries, redcurrants, rhubarb and raspberry, with a dollop of honey and a silky finish.
Great with roasted or braised dishes and very good with game.
