Description

St Johns Brook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine from the Margaret River wine region, Western Australia. It comes from the St Johns Brook Vineyard.

St. Johns Wines, established in 1997, is a Western Australian wine company that produces premium wines from vineyards in Margaret River and Blackwood Valley. The Bosveld family group bought the vineyards in 2020 and bring with them considerable wine industry experience. The company’s vineyard holdings include the St. Johns Vineyard, a significant 40-hectare plantation situated in the heart of the Margaret River wine region, and St. Johns Brook, a mature vineyard spanning approximately 60 hectares in Yelverton, which was established in 1998. St Johns Wine is also a partner at the St. Johns Brook vineyard winery which was purpose-built. Its barrel hall is stocked with a wide selection of the finest oak barrels, enabling the crafting of exceptional wines in the region.

Since 2013, St. Johns has been practicing eco-friendly viticultural methods. They refrain from using herbicides whenever possible and limit their use of chemical inputs to a minimum. Moreover, they have implemented their own sustainable composting program. The grape varieties cultivated by St. Johns are all planted on original rootstock, with key French varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Semillon, and Sauvignon Blanc providing the highest quality fruit for their Single Vineyard and Reserve wine collections.

The St Johns Brook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Block 7, St Johns best Cabernet block. The grapes are crushed and destemed to small open fermenters which are then hand plunged. The wine is matured in French barriques, 50% new, for 14 months.
