Description

Champagne Moet et Chandon Ice Imperial is a new cuvee from this venerable Champagne house, a demi sec Champagne which is specially designed to be drunk over ice.

Moet et Chandon was founded in 1743 and has been making Champagne ever since. The quality of the wines gives full expression to the richness and diversity of the fabulous vineyards, the largest and most prestigious estate in the whole of Champagne, made up almost exclusively of Premiers Crus and Grands Crus. Moët & Chandon merged with Hennessy Cognac in 1971 and with Louis Vuitton in 1987 to become LVMH, the largest luxury group in the world. Moët & Chandon holds a Royal Warrant as supplier of champagne to Queen Elizabeth II. Brut Imperial was introduced in the 1860s.

Moet Ice Imperial is a blend of Pinot Noir (40-50%), Pinot Meunier (30-40%) and Chardonnay (20-30%). About 20-30% of the blend is made up with reserve wines, the dosage is 45 g/L and the wine is aged for 18 months. Moet Ice Imperial is richer, sweeter and more aromatic than a Brut Champagne. It is more intense and can stand up to the temperature of the ice and the slight dilution.
