Description

Arlewood Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc Reserve is a 50 / 50 blend and is made from grapes sourced from Margaret River. Arlewood was established by Garry Gosatti in 1999 in the Wilybrup Valley, Margaret River, Western Australia. Situtated a few miles from the Indian Ocean and bounded by it on three sides, Arlewood benefits from the best of the region’s landscape and climate. In 2009 Arlewood acquired an established vineyard in Forest Grove, Witchcliffe, ten minutes south of the town of Margaret River, and made the move from Wilyabrup. The Forest Grove Estate is now Arlewood HQ. This area is much cooler and offers more freshness to the fruit. Arlewood Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc Reserve is winemaker Bill Crappsley’s unashamed take on the great white wines of the Graves appellation of Bordeaux. Bill Crappsley is something of an Australian wine legend and has been making the wines at Arlewood since 2009. Check out his other project, Plan B Wines. The grape varieties are barrel fermented and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques followed by an extended period of bottle ageing prior to release.
