Description

Corryton Burge Kith Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris is an Australian white wine made from grapes grown in the Adelaide Hills wine-growing region. It is part of their “Kith” range of wines.

Corryton Burge

Corryton Burge takes its name from the family’s historical property, Corryton Park Homestead, which was built in 1845. It is located in the gentle hills of the Eden Valley wine-growing region to the north of Adelaide. The Eden Valley is bounded by the Barossa Valley wine region to the west and the Adelaide Hills wine region to the south.

Burge Family: Sixth-Generation Winemakers

The estate is run by sixth-generation winemakers, and siblings, Trent and Amelia Burge. Both Trent and Amelia are heavily involved in running the estate. Trent is in charge of all departments and day-to-day operations and Amelia is involved with wine marketing and as a member of the board of management. They also both have their wine projects: Barossa Boy Wines and Amelia Burge Wines.

The name Burge will be familiar to most Australian wine lovers; Trent’s father is Barossa Valley wine-making legend Grant Burge. When Grant Burge sold the Grant Burge brand, they retained all the real estate.

Vineyards

Grapes are sourced from the Burge family’s 300 hectares of vines in southern and central Barossa and Adelaide Hills with a network of twenty growers further afield in non-Barossa regions. The wines are made at the family’s Illaparra winery by the talented winemaking team of Matthew Pellew, Andrew Cockram and Trent Burge. There are three ranges of wines: the Kith, Kin and Her Majesty’s Theatre.
