Description

Domaine Des Comtes Lafon Meursault Perrieres 1er Cru 2004 75cl.

Domaine des Comtes Lafon is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and influential estates in Burgundy, renowned for producing some of the most celebrated Burgundy wines. The estate, located in Meursault, was founded by the Boch family in 1869 and later became Domaine des Comtes Lafon when Marie Boch married Comte Jules Lafon in 1994. Fourth generation Dominique Lafon tookover the running of the estate in 1985. The Domaine des Comtes Lafon estate consists of 15 individual vineyards and includes a much prized parcel of Le Montrachet Grand Cru vines, parcels in all six of the finest premiers crus in Meursault and vineyards in Volnay and Monthelie. The vineyards are managed with meticulous care and attention to detail, following a biodynamic approach emphasising sustainable and organic practices.

Domaine Des Comtes Lafon Meursault Perrieres is made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the Meursault appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. Situated just south of Volnay and Pommard in the Côte de Beaune, Meursault is the most extensive southerly white wine commune of the Cote d’Or. The perfect south-easterly exposure and stony marl soils contribute greatly to the remarkable finesse of which these wines are capable. The Perrieres 1er cru is  located at the southern tip of Meursault. It is widely regarded as the finest vineyard in the commune and is often considered second only to the esteemed Montrachet Grand Cru variations.
