Description

Geschwister Simon wine estate is managed by Gerog Steffes, cellarmaster and vintner and his wife Heidi, nee Simon. The Steffes and Simon families have been involved in winemaking and viticulture since 1721.

Some of the greatest Rieslings come from the Saar tributary of the Mosel. The little village of Ayl lies on the western flank of the Saar river, and the wines show classic cool, herb, apple and mineral austerity. The south-facing Kupp vineyard site is clearly the most favourable, the 8.5 hectares of south / southwest facing hillside vineyards are composed of slate rich in minerals.
