Description

Vina Puebla Vina Puebla Macabeo Fermentado en Barrica is a barrel fermented white wine made by Bodegas Toribion in the Ribera del Guadiana DO of the Extremadura region of Spain. The Ribera del Guadiana DO was created relatively recently in 1999 and cover 6 sub-zones including Matanegra where Bodegas Toribio is located. Bodegas Toribio is a family owned winery and estate that was established in the middle of the last century. The Matanegra area is characterized by a unique microclimate, soil rich in minerals and is slightly cooler than the other sub-zones of the DO. The estate comprises 60 hectares of vineyards planted with red and white grape varieties such as Tempranillo , Syrah , Common Grenache, Grenache , Cabernet Sauvignon , Graciano , Macabeo and Verdejo. They also manage another 40 hectares of vineyards. Bodegas Toribio have recently completed a vistors centre next to their cellars in Puebla de Sancho Perez, Badajoz. Vina Puebla Macabeo Fermentado en Barrica Ribera is 100% Macabeo (also known as Viura) which is barrel fermented for three months.

Tasting Notes

Vina Puebla Vina Puebla Macabeo Fermentado en Barrica is a pale yellow color with golden highlights. It has a rich nose with creamy, smoky, lees-y aromas. There are also fruity and toasty notes too. The palate is rich and creamy with a persistent , fresh and long finish.
