Weegmuller Scheurebe Trocken is an aromatic white wine from the Pfalz (Palatinate) wine-growing region. It is a wonderfully rich and food-friendly wine.
The 11th generation of Weegmüller family, sisters Stefanie and Gabrielle excelled in making delicious wines from the Palatinate region for over 30 years. In 2021, Philipp Steegmüller took over the reins, born and bred in the Palatinate region, as a lover of fine wine and food; he is joined by cellar master Gregor Hofer, to continue the Weingut Weegmüller story. The vineyards are farmed organically, to respect the environment and the biodiversity within it, and the yields are restricted to gain concentration and weight.
The Scheurebe (pronounced “sh-oy-rebe”) grapes are produced in the outstanding vineyard sites of the Mittelhaardt. Almost 90% of Weingut Weegmüller’s vineyards are located in the top classified region of Haardt. This district takes its name from the lowlying Haardt Mountains, which play a vital role in the terroir here. The soils are made up of marl, loam and clay. The grapes for Weegmuller Scheurebe Trocken are harvested by hand when the grapes had reached optimal maturity, the juice was fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 18°C to preserve the freshness and aromatic characteristics of the Scheurebe grape.
