Cohiba Short Cigars are a small cigar, slightly wider than the Cohiba Minis, with a ring gauge of 26, and shorter than Cohiba Clubs. They were first launched in the UK in 2017. The range of Cohiba small cigars was also bolstered with the addition of the Wide Shorts in 2023.

Cohiba: The Cuban Flagship

Cohiba is the flagship Cuban Cigar brand of Habanos S.A. and was created in 1966. It was formally launched in 1968, for President Fidel Castro, and the cigars were made at the then top secret, now world famous, El Laguito factory (today some of the cigars are now made at the Partagas factory). Originally Cohiba Cigars were only ever for the use of high-ranking government officials and for giving away as gifts to heads of state and visiting diplomats.

The Cohiba Cigar brand was first launched outside of Cuba at the 1982 Football World Cup in Spain. The name comes from the ancient Taino Indian word for the bunches of tobacco leaves that Columbus first saw being smoked by the original inhabitants of Cuba – the earliest known form of a Habano.
