The H Upmann Magnum 50 is part of Upmann’s “Magnum” range of cigars and is made from a blend of tobacco (filler and binder) from the Vuelta Abajo zone. As well as this short, chunky thick 50 gauge cigar, the range also includes the Magnum 54 and Magnum 46. There is a secondary band which displays the name “Magnum”. The Magnum 50 vitola was launched in 2008 after being created for a highly successful 2005 Eidicion Limitada (with a Maduro wrapper). All H. Upmann sizes are ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade.

H Upmann was founded in 1844 by a German banker who loved cigars so much he moved to Havana and started his own cigar house. Upmann make a lighter to medium bodied, elegant cigar which are ideal cigars for a wedding or for inexperienced smokers. Famously the H Upmann Coronas J, formally known as the H Upmann Petit Upmann has the distinction of being the Cuban cigar than President J F Kennedy stocked up on before he signed the US / Cuban trade embargo.

The H Upmann Magnum 50 Cigar is a light to medium bodied cigar, it is complex and creamy with lots of subtle and smooth woody character, hints of caramel, toast and a mellow, slightly floral aftertaste. Easy and smooth smoke that is ideal as a daytime or aperitif cigar. Smoke time round 45 to 55 minutes.
