The Quai d’Orsay No 50 cigar was first launched in 2017 in Paris, alongside another new Vitola, the No 54. The No 50 is a Petit Robusto sized cigar, the same size as the Partagas Serie D No 5.

The Quai d’Orsay range of Cuban Cigars was originally created by Habanos SA for the French market in 1974 and it was distributed by SEITA Cigarros whose former headquarters was located in the famous Quai d’Orsay in Paris, hence the name. SEITA also distribute Jose L Piedra cigars in France.

Quai d’Orsay No 50 cigars are hand-rolled (“totalmente a mano”) using long-filler tobacco from the famous Vuelta Abajo region wrapped up with a Colorado Claro shade wrapper. Quai d’Orsay are known for being one of the softest Cuban cigars with notes of precious woods and honey, vanilla and hazelnut, with an elegant bouquet of dry flowers and a pleasing finish of earthy notes.

These are a great Cuban cigar from a little-known and undervalued brand, perfect for those who prefer a chunkier cigar which is a lighter smoke.
