La Invicta Honduran Maduro Cigars are a dark looking cigar finished with a Maduro rather than an natural wrapper. Maduro means “mature” or “ripe” in Spanish and it refers to the extra time that is required and the darker colours achieved during the natural fermentation of maduro wrappers. Maduro wrappers are darker, they look oily to the touch and generally produce darker, spicier and earthy charateristics. The La Invicta Honduran Maduro Cigars are a great place to start if one wishes to try the sort of flavours and aromas associated with the Maduro wrapper. Made using the finest tobaccos grown in Honduras.
The La Invicta brand name is owned by Hunters and Frankau who are the exclusive agents for Habanos S.A. and distribute all their Cuban cigars in the UK. The brand was created in the 1940s when, during World War II, they could not purchase Cuban cigars in US dollars. Instead Hunters and Frankau created La Invicta cigars which were made from Jamaican tobacco to keep the UK supplied during wartime. The brand has recently been resurrected and includes Honduran and Nicaraguan versions. The Honduran cigars are made at the Tabacos De Oriente Factory using tobaccos taken from Talanga and Jamastran.
The La Invicta Honduran Maduro Cigar has a a dark, brown oily looking wrapper. It is a medium strength cigar with sweet and earthy notes and a hint of peppery spice.
