Cognac Le Reviseur XO Single Estate Petite Champagne is a single estate Cognac and is the oldest style of brandy produced at this exciting Cognac House. XO designates a blend in which the youngest brandy has been stored for at least 6 years in cask. Many small producers age their Cognac in excess of the minimum requirements. In April 2018, the minimum age of the youngest brandy used in an XO blend was increased to ten years.
Cognac Le Reviseur is owned by Francis Abécassis, the owner of Cognac Leyrat and ABK6. It is a single estate Cognac from the Petite Champagne region. Abécassis states, “I am convinced that blending eaux de vie coming from a Single Estate gives the Cognac inimitable character and depth. To extract the fruit of my terroirs, I have decided to master each step of production on our estates. This is why I have built a highly qualified team whose members fulfil their tasks with the required skills, care and love.”
Cognac Le Reviseur XO Petite Champagne comes exclusively from the Domaine du Maine Drilhon, a 90 hectare estate in the heart of the Petite Champagne region that was founded in 1850. The east-west position of its vineyards is particularly favourable for producing very aromatic wines. The distillation in very small stills (1600 litres) and the ageing of the subsequent spirit in dry cellars gives powerful Cognacs that reflect the true potential of this terroir recognised for its concentration of aromas. Characteristic fruitiness allied with exceptional roundness make Le Reviseur Cognacs a product both classical and particularly attractive.
All their Cognacs are aged in 300 to 400 litre Limousin casks and the blender is Simon Palmer. Every step of production is carried out on the estate to guarantee quality.
Presented in a decanter bottle.
Cognac Le Reviseur XO Petite Champagne has a old gold colour with amber highlights. The nose has notes of vanilla and wood that is then followed by an elegant rancio with lovely aromas of dried fruits. The mouth is supple and gives liquorice rancio and a lovely length.
