Description

Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve an authentic and traditional Jamaican rum and the first release under the Worthy Park range of bottlings. The rums are distilled in the Jamaican pot still style and are heavy bodied rum full of esters and congeners.

The Worthy Park estate has been has been a working sugar estate since 1720 with the first rum being produced in 1741. It is located 40 miles by road to the north west of Kingston in the heart of Lluidas Vale at 1200 feet above see level. The estate was acquired by the Clarke family since 1918 and has remained privately owned and managed since. Worthy Park rum is made from molasses and double distilled in a Forsyth’s copper pot still (built in Scotland). The new distillery, which was completed in 2005, was built with efficiency in mind and designed to maintain the highest level of quality.

Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve Jamaican Rum is batch distilled in 100% copper pot-stills. It is a carefully selected blend of rums that have been aged for between 6 and 10 years in once-used American white oak barrels. 100% single estate product; batch distilled, aged, blended and bottled on site.

Tasting Notes

Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve Rum has a natural, light amber colour. The nose is punchy with upfront aromas of light tobacco and toasted oak with spicy fruit – raisins and plums. With time light notes of vanilla become evident. On the mouth luscious and tropical fruits with a soft, buttery and almost creamy texture. Dry a slightly bitter, soft tannins are rounded out by toasted oak and nutmeg. A hint of black pepper finished off with a touch of ginger as it lingers with it’s soft, dry finish.
